Post 1943 was proud to be able to provide a color guard for the internment of ashes for SAMS National Comptroller Mel Cooper on June 15, 2009. The Cooper family was in attendance including his long-time companion, Pamela G. Tysinger, and their five children. The color guard was comprised of Post 1943 members Dick Bevier, Kent McAden, Ian Todd, and Tom Williams. David Corbett of Wolf River Pipes & Drums volunteered his services as a piper for the internment.
